Description

QsonicIII PLL/VCO, excellent bass response, fast lock and up to 50W of power!

The new MAX PRO 6000+ FM exciters bring more power, improved QSonicIII VCO/PLL subsystem and a number of improvements and new features, including RS232/USB/GSM remote control and supervision, new alarms and ALC (Automatic Level Control). It covers entire FM band from 87.5 to 108MHz without tuning and offers 15-50W of clean RF power.

The design of the MAX PRO 6000+ series is an improved version of now obsolete MAX PRO 5015+ exciter and also looks quite similar at first glance, however many improvements were implemented. The result is a rugged and solid FM exciter with completely flat power output across the entire FM band at 15W, 25W or 50V, designed to run silently and cool 24/7. Since the new design was so much better and  completely stable under all conditions we were able to add 50W model and we may release 100W later this year. The MAX PRO 6000+ are purposely over-engineered, using the very best components and materials that can be located. MAX PRO 6000+ are built the way you would build it for yourself if you had the time, knowledge, money, and inclination to do so. Why wait? Your dream FM exciter is a reality right now!

The exciter carries a one year limited warranty on parts and labor against defects in materials and workmanship, except the RF final transistor.

You can find the manual for this (and other products)
here.

How is MAXPRO6000 series better than MAXPRO5000 series?
– Some models are powered from 48V making them more practical for driving pallets (no 12V DCDC needed) reducing cost.
– 25W and 50W models now have high performance ceramic LDMOS output stage, ensuring reliability and better cooling
– Heatsinks in 25W and 50W models have been improved to handle the heat better
– Two VU headers now available so you can either monitor drive power or external power from external directional couplers
– DIP switch mode without LCD display for low cost installations
– New GSM remote control module with Android app, can be controlled via SMS as well
– Removed the slightly microphonic drain coil
– Comes also with new LCD with rotary encoder. This new LCD offers password protection and other cool features.

How is MAXPRO7015 better than MAXPRO6015?
– MAXPRO7015 is practically identical, but was designed for maximum spurious signal rejection (>75dBc). Some high-end customers appreciate this feature. Depending on operating frequency dBc can be >90dB down relative to the carrier.

What parameters can I change via remote control?
Its best that you look at the screen capture below. The program may change over
time as we make enhancements, we will be adding more features soon! Feel free
to ask for any features you may want.

Can I upgrade my old CyberMaxFM+ 15W transmitter with new exciter?
Sure, just exchange the boards, take the 5000+ out and replace it with 6015,
6025 or 6050. Don’t forget to use appropriate power supply as 6025 and 6050 use 48V!

Technical specifications:
– RF Output Power: 0 to 15 Watts, 0-25W, 0-50W (fully variable via
LCD in nice gradual steps), LCD power adjustment range can also be limited to
0-1W, 0-2W, 0-3W, 0-4W … 0-15W, 0-full, this is done with a jumper (exact options
vary depending on model).
– Output connector: 15 BNC, 25 and 50W – high quality all-metal BNC
– Output Impedance: 50 Ohms
– Frequency range: 87.5-108MHz
– PLL Steps: 100KHz-500KHz, adjustable
– Frequency stability: +/- 20Hz
– Spurious/Harmonic rejection: Harmonics: >50dB, Spurious: >-65dB (>-75 for MAXPRO7015)
– Power Supply 15W: 12-15V/3A or car battery
– Power Supply 25W/50W model: 48V/1.5A/2.5A

What is the Predrilled LCD front panel?
– This is a rectangular piece of aluminum with predrilled holes for LCD display, 3 buttons and LED diodes. It also has 4 holes in the corner so you can easily mount this to your case. This makes it much easier to mount the transmitter into a nice looking case (eliminates the hard work with the LCD). This is of course an optional item.

What is the Upgrade to new LCD display with rotary button?
– This is upgrade to our new LCD display type with rotary button in place where the three buttons used to be. It also has separate LED diodes for various alarms. The menu system is similar to regular display, but it does also offer an option to lock the display with a password!
This LCD module comes without the front panel shown on the photo only for ilustration!

What is that switch with LED diode?
MAXPRO50XX+ is delivered without ON/OFF switch, there is a jumper that can be removed and connected to the switch. This is the switch we use in our 19″ racks, it also has a built-in LED diode for better effect. Instructions on wiring this switch are shown on the main board. This is of course an optional item.

What is the RS232 IO board and why do I need it?
IO board is required, if you want to control MAXPRO3000+ remotely via RS232.
It plugs into the LCD control module. RS232 cable is not included.

What is the IO board with 3x BNC connectors and why do I need it?
IO board is required, if you want to control MAXPRO6000+ remotely via USB, RS232 or GSM.
The module plugs into the LCD control module. USB/RS232 cable is not included (standard cable is available everywhere). The three BNC cables can be used for MPX in, MPX out and 19KHz when used with stereo encoder. Optional item.

What is the Ethernet remote control module for?
This add-on card lets you connect this transmitter to the PC via Ethernet network. You can control and monitor the status of your transmitter over Ethernet or Internet. This is of course an optional item.

What is the GSM remote control module for?
This module plugs into IO board (RS232) and lets you control and monitor this transmitter via GSM phone with SMS messages or Android app. This is of course an optional item.

What is the Software+IOBOARD for changing logo?
This is a combination of special unlocked version of software and RS232 IO board, which is required to control MAXPRO5000+ remotely via PC/RS232. It plugs into the LCD control module. Software lets you change welcome text (logo); you can replace that text with your company name for example. Your customized text will be saved and used at every power-up. This is of course an optional item.

What is that tiny switch?
This is the switch we use in our 19″ racks, it also has a built-in LED diode for better effect.

What is PCSLPF6000+ 1KW PTFE LPF with DIGIAMP?
This is a low pass filter with directional coupler (power and SWR meter) that simply connects to MAX PRO 3000+ via flat cable. Only used when you install this exciter in an enclosure together with amplifier. It can than be connected between the exit from amplifier and antenna connector to provide power, swr, temperature and voltage information to the FM exciter. Flat cable is ordered separately (DIGIAMP flat cable). You can read more about this in the manual.

What is PCSLPF7000+ 1.5KW PTFE LPF with DIGIAMP?
This is a low pass filter with directional coupler (power and SWR meter) that simply connects to MAX PRO 3000+ via flat cable. Only used when you install this exciter in an enclosure together with amplifier. It can than be connected between the exit from amplifier and antenna connector to provide power, swr, temperature and voltage information to the FM exciter. Flat cable is ordered separately (DIGIAMP flat cable). You can read more about this in the manual.

What else should I buy to construct a big 500W or 1000W or higher transmitter?
We really recommend these items to all users:
– LPF 6000 or 7000 series filter (described above), more info on these available here. 6000 and 7000 series filters are easier to connect (use digiamp flat cable).
– Any of these pallets here, a power supply for these can be purchased here
– Stereo encoder, any of these will do.
– A rack
enclosure
from 1H to 3H, with fans, accessories and more…
– Use PTFE RG142 50 ohm coax for internal connections inside your rack (PTFE coax is easier to work with, it does not melt when hot). Make sure all coaxial cable leads are very short.
