Description

Thanks to a new ECO-MAX product line we are finally able to offer cost-effective antenna systems. These antenna systems cover majority of scenarios, they are all listed below with their specifications. If you have any questions please email for additional details. We can put together any combination of dipoles and yagis for you, either vertical, circular or horizontal polarisation. Also check at the bottom of description for recommended accessories.

Vertical polarisation dipole systems:
Maximum omni-directional range, more sensitive to multi-path problems, a bit cheaper than circular (for example systems 1,2,3)

Circular polarisation systems:
Slightly less omni-directional range/gain, better penetration and less sensitive to multi-path problems. Circular polarisation ensures better signal in urban environments, especially city centres with high buildings. (for example systems 4,5,6).

YAGI systems:
These systems are not omni-directional. Exact radiation pattern can be adjusted by setting an angle between yagi antennas. The wider you spread them the wider the  signal will be. These systems are practical for example when you want signal only to cover 60-180 degrees. At least 4-6 yagi antennas are recommended for best   performance. Gives best range of all three, but is more sensitive to multi-path (just like the dipoles), for example systems 13-14.

Obtaining desired coverage patterns:
For high gain omni coverage use circular or vertical dipoles. For custom directed patterns use 4-6 yagi antennas or more (systems 14-15). For perfectly omni-directional radiation pattern consider ExterminatorII antenna, it can be installed on top of the tower and the tower will not cause any shadow. It has gain comparable to 2 dipoles, polarisation is vertical.

How much ERP will my transmitter have with certain gain?
3dbd gain:
Your ERP will be increased 2x, for example 1KW transmitter will have 2KW ERP*
6dbd gain: Your ERP will be increased 4x, for example 1KW transmitter will have 4KW ERP*
9dbd gain:
Your ERP will be increased 8x, for example 1KW transmitter will have 8KW ERP*
(*) not taking cable losses into account

How much will my range increase with certain gain?
6dbd gain: Your range will increase 50 – 100%*
9dbd gain:
Your range will increase 100-200%*
(*) subject to terrain configuration, soil conductivity etc

Specifications for all of the antenna systems are listed below, if you can’t find what you’re looking for please email, we can put together virtually any antenna system you can think of.

Operating wideband antenna systems near band edges: We recommend 2-step combiners when operating near band edge, SWR is usually a bit worse there even for wide-band antennas. So if you operate at say 107MHz or 88MHz consider an upgrade to 2-step combiner for best performance.

Important: Due to large size and irregular shape of these packages the website often gets shipping cost wrong. Also sometimes we have to use wooden case which adds about 100 euro to the cost of antenna. For exact shipping cost please contact our sales department, be sure to give them your exact address and they will quote you shipping.

Recommended accessories:
We recommend AA-230 ZOOM antenna analyser for checking SWR of the antennas. Grounding kits can be purchased also, they ensure lightning protection. They should be installed at the antenna (if needed, most dipoles are grounded anyway), at the tower base and at the point of entrance into transmitter building. Also use self-sealing tape which turns into rubber and protects moisture from entering your connectors and cable.
