Post Comet 5/8 Antenna Reply with quote
I'm new to this hobby. I have a Comet 5/8 wave ant. I don't think it's tuned right...Im on the 107.1 feq. and have it adjusted about 16 inches, according to the instruction. Just was wondering if this is correct. I'm currently using a wavemach 10 watt transmitter with a Vernocia 50 watt amp.

Regarding tuning, it is best to have SWR meter and
measure it. Actual SWR of your antenna depends among
other things upon proximity of other metal objects, exact
antenna placement etc. So the chart helps, but actual tuning
differs from antenna to antenna.

PS: Veronica's got bad reputation, ask around.
