PCI MAx Ultra
I've been doing a little reading up on this product, i have a few questions any help would be greatly appreciated.
Now i read on the site not to ask about anything about 50 watts for broadcasting, but is it possible too? The reason is im intrested in starting an FM Station, i plan on registering with the FCC and getting a liscense and all, i have researched the legalities and what not, Now using just the PCI Card is there a way for me to cover the whole NY Area, i am willing to purchase what i will need for this i understand this entails lots of antennaes and so forth but im curious as to what the card can handle and what i can do with it, the sheer concept of using the PC to broadcast is what im interested in. I use SAM so it makes this alot better...
Im a bit new to the brocasting scene but im just curious as to how i can go about this project and what other Equipment i need and where i can get it! The whole idea is to run the system off a computer and have it fully automated using the PC. If you dont think this is the way to go an have other ideas feel free to let me know, but im bent on the idea of using a computer mainly for the monitoring and ease purposes.
Any help, links, info or anything that you think will help is appreciated!
Thank you in advanced for any help!

Back to the point:
You can use the PCI max + the booster set to 1 watt. Then you can amplify the signal to 100w. But I say buy the transmitter as a standalone unit. That way you can just feed the audio from your sound card into the transmitter. And if your computer goes down, your station doesn't.

hmm
What if i buy both the stand alone and the PCI version, becuase i want to be able to use SAM and Also shoutcast at the same time, so if buy both and the PC is temporarily down i can use the box.
I was curious as to the limitations of the PCI, if it could actually broadcast to the whole of New York with the right antennae's and amps.... i'd be willing to purchase all that i need... even both broadcasters...

You can use SAM2 with standalone units also. Just connect audio card
to your transmitters' audio inputs.
I would not use PCI MAX 2004 for a 100.000W transmitter. It is not what
it was designed for.

If you're going to register your station in the US, check
the professional 19 inch rack 30W and 250W units.
I suggest you start looking at the legal aspects. Check www.fcc.gov

Im applying for the regular FM, i guess thats the full power one, any thing i should know? I was at the FCC site, its horribly confusing, if you have any site where i can get like a break down of how i can go about acquiring a station please feel free to post, im trying to get all the info... Do you know how much it costs to get a liscense? I looked through the site but all im seeing is application fee's
All I heard is that its mission impossible for most people...

Im actually working with this guy who's owned a radio station, but down in trinidad, he has all the equipment, but i believe he doesnt have a liscense to broadcast here, he of course does have the money which will fund the project, he's dealt with the FCC before in regards to a TV station he recently started so hopefully all goes well.
Thanks for all the help again!
