NEW CYBER MAX LCD BACKGROUND HUM

Post by TAWEBB »

Just got my new CYBER MAX LCD. I have been using the PC ISA for the past 2 years. I wanted a little more power and I wanted to free up my pc.
My problem is a nasty background hum which I did not have with the PC version. It is not the audio source, I have eliminated that.....
I bought this unit because of it having a power supply which I thought would be cleaner power.
What can you suggest to eliminate this hum.
Thanks.

Antenna problems and ground loop problems.

You need to move antenna away from the transmitter, make
sure SWR is ok (that it is tuned). Experiment with cables a little,
try to move them around until HUM dissapears.

How is your audio equipment? Does the hum dissapear when
you discounnect audio cables? Are you using a PC? Sometimes
these are not grounded well or they are in another branch of
the mains wiring. Experiment a bit.
