- Digital sound input now standard
- Telemetry for MAX PRO 5000 exciters
- A number of small improvements that bring out better sound!
- Boards are a bit bigger now and accept the new RDS 5000 series boards with on-board XLR balanced audio inputs and built-in IO board

Hi,

I'm currently using the SE 6000 AN connected to a Max pro 5025, is it correct that you need to select mono
in the stereocoder menu to actually turn stereo on in the encoder?. I originally ordered the DSP version,
but I was told that the software wasn't ready yet, do you have a estimated on when it's ready?

Best regards,
Michiel

Hi,

that is correct, the mono/stereo in the LCD menu have been reversed due to some practical issues.
Firmware for DSP is almost ready.

How do you like the sound and stereo separation?

The main advantage of 6000 series are:
- New much better multiplexer circuit
- New IO board with integrated RDS and XLR connectors

It improves audio quality and makes it easier for us to build transmitters (less cable connections, boards etc)
Best regards,

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I haven't had the chance to test in great detail, the audio level from
my laptop is not really high, so the audio on the radio is quite soft. I can turn up the level
by turning up the audio input trimmer on the transmitter, but the the pilot level may be to
high. I now trimmed it just above the level when the stereo led comes on on the radio,
trimming the pilot level on the stereo encoder doesn't bring the level down enough, I just
need to boost the input audio levels I guess.

Kind regards,
Michiel

Consider audio processor, several software variants exist.

Without this you can't expect to sound as loud as commercial stations, they all use one (usually expensive hardware version, they start at around 1500 euro).

Yes, there is extension connector where you can plug our RDS, but you can use it also to inject any other signal, the pin to use is MPX IN.

Check the manual for jumper positions. Its also clearly shown on the board itself.
If you are in EU (Spain) set to 50uS.

South America or US: set to 75uS.

For USB just connect to your PC via cable and it will work immediately.
The analog inputs will work at the same time.

SE6000AN

Post by kostas.p »

Hello .
Thank you for the SE6000. It works with Sam broacaster , breakaway processor and the result is amazing.
I have a question. In the user manual , chapter 5 , which describe how to setup the encoder correctly. I am looking for trimmer (J) [Now adjust trimmer (J)....] but i can't find it.
Where is my wrong ?

Hello,

I'm wondering about the soundcard chip that is used on these boards : could it be recognized by other systems than Windows ? Like Mac OS and Linux ?

If I assume that the chip is pretty common, it might be seen as an AC'97 audio adapter, or something ? In that case, it would be compatible with all systems.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, it should be automatically recognized by any operating system.
