Double stacked dipoles gap

A freind has bought two FM dipoles and wishes to do a two stack, one above the other. What's distance should we have between the diople tips? I've read some stuff online about using 0.9 lamdba, but that seems really big.

What gaps are you guys using?

Its not big, typically 2.6m
