Output Toriods

Post by traderbob1947 »

I have an AM Max II which was used as an oscillator buffer in a MW-5 and I am now looking to use it as a low power standby somewhere else.
It appears to have been built from a kit and then modified.
The Toroids are missing, they have been replaced by a large capacitor and I am pretty sure this won't work when we apply modulation.
No schematic or parts list available but someone must know the value of these inductors.
I can work out the circuit and what each section does.
The inductors are part of the final filter.
Hopefully someone has a complete one, and maybe a list of parts.
regards
Robert

What you have is a final version, it was never sold as a KIT.

Maybe some customer made some extra mods on it.

It has definitely been modified. The LCD part has been replaced with an oscillator by NOVATECH. It was just used to provide enough drive for the MW5 so all that was needed was the carrier. Modulation was done elsewhere.
I have some 100uH chokes which look like the ones in the photo. Size etc. Will let you know if it all works

I say wait for the new model and just replace the whole thing.
