PCIMAX 3000 with RDS

Post by vondee7 »

Today installed the PCB and installed the software. Installation (XP) was very easy and it worked immidiatly. RDS works perfect! Sound (streaming from Windows Media player) is perfect with a lot of dynamic bass. Is there a way to correct modulation depth a bit ? With strong bass the stereo indicator on my receiver blinks... Not a big problem, just to know if it is possible to coreect.

You are over modulating, you need to reduce your audio input level, there are no "adjustments" on the actual board. Remember you cannot sound like a large commercial station unless you make large investment in audio processing equipment.
It is what it is...

Look at DSP processing software, it will enable you to raise average loudness without over-modulating.

SAM broadcaster here:

supports pcimax directly and offers plenty of DSP processing options including multiband compressor.
