How much Watt is safe?

Post by jonas21 »

Hello,

i've been look around a while but havent been able to find any information about this....
How safe is it to operate say a 50W station and antenna, e.g. how far away should persons etc be?
I mean...if i use a Cybermax 50W with a GP antenna how far away should one be to not be
harmed by excessive radiation? I know its fairly low...but when does this start to be unhealthy?

Field strength falls very fast with distance. This means you are more exposed
from your GSM since that is right next to your ear. Especially in areas with low
signal since than GSM engages full power, several watts. Additionally microwaves
are more harmfull than lower frequency signals.

There is some evidence that GSM phones could cause brain cancer.

50W FM? I'd say don't touch it or stand right next to it for hours. If you are
several meters away you're safe. And for a short tuning procedure I would not
worry about that.

You can read more about this here:

and in this document:
