Power Supply with Capacitor

I opened another manufacturer`s amp, there was a problem the the power supply, i was blown out, i saw the installed a capacitor across the ground and the neutral, what the reason for this?

That's just a cheap way to keep RF out of the power supply, the real reason is that the power supply was possibly not strong enough (saving on costs).

so therefore if the power transistor has a max output of 150 watts and i use a 150 watts power supply , it is a good idea to install a cap across the terminals.

but if i was to use a larger power supply like 300 watts to power the same transistor , what you are saying is that no capacitor are needed. because the power supply will have enough power and shield to keep the rf out.

that what i understand by you statement, is that correct?

No, you always need to use around 300W power supply, capacitor has nothing to do with power rating.
