750 fm amplifier help!!!!

Post by radioguy »

I have a 20 watt hlly transmitter and I want to upgrade the wattage by using the 750 watt amplifier being offered on pcs shop. Will the amplifier be able to adjust too such a high input wattage? if so should I also up grade to a 3/4 exterminator antenna inorder to deal with the power. Also what would be the best coxial cable to use inorder to get the lowest amont of loss. I need a 75 foot cable. The help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, but please specify input power when you order under comments.
We will add attenuator that will make it possible to use 20W of drive power.

The best coax is usually the most expensive coax.
You usually make a compromise depending on total length and power used.

A short run of coax does not have to be high quality, it only needs to handle
the power used. But as the cable gets longer the losses rise and it makes sense
to use a better one. How long is your coax? Aircom or H-500 are good
choices:

For pro setups or long cable runs you can't go wrong with cellflex:

Well, that is 30 meters. I'd take aircom plus 50 or if too expensive than H-500.

That'll be about 1db power loss for you, not too bad.
