Here are the latest manuals for various LCD control modules for our products:

LCD control module, ver 4.0 (September 2006), used for most of our products:

LCD control module, ver 2.0 (early 2006), used for most of our products, slightly older version:

We covered it more than enough in another thread. What else would you want?

I appreciate the circuit diagram is the same as other versions with components omitted for different models but I would like a pcb layout for ver 30 5/2006. For instance, in the manual for v4 under tips/hints and as you say we have discussed before, there is a ref to changing the contrast using a value change of R3, now any layman would just go and try to do that on a ver3 and find it missing as you have used different component numbers on different build versions, obviously no damage here as its missing and doesn't form part of the circuit around the contrast but another component ref change on another ver could give rise to problems if the same component letter did a different job on ver 3.0. There is no way I would have found out without you telling me that R6 does the same function as R3 on a ver 30 board.but with board layout and diagram I would have found this.

I am ony able to find ver1.1,2.0 and ver4 diagrams. Prehaps you could point me to the URL for ver 30

Regards

There have so far been zero requests for a change of contrast.
In fact you are the only one asking about it.

The differences between versions are small and mostly cosmetic.

If anyone has any problem with any LCD module they should let me know
and we'll work on it.

First of all I would like to say I am not complaining nor do I have a particular intrest in contrast control. The reason I spoke to you originally about contrast adjustment was I had viewed your latest manual on the ver 4 display, and looked at the tips section and compared it to my version who's pcb layout and component ref was different. Using this information I was unable to locate the same resistor. My coment on a previous post about "what about my ver 30" was because I felt I was being excluded from the same information that others had as I was unlucky to have a ver 30.
On another note I feel that with more info about your products i.e a circuit diagram and pcb diagram people could work independently on their "kit".
of course I am not sayng supply source codes etc, just detailed info to fault find voltage points etc.
Remember in the short time I have had the MAXpro3 and lcd I have had to get back to you for:
1, PLL unlocking at low supply voltage
2, Dead buzzer, and as I had never heard it no info on when it operated.
3, dry joint around the buzzer re-soldered, changed R6 to 150ohm as the supplied 1k was to quiet.
adjusted L1.
most of the time the replies are one liners with no explanation as to the operation of the circuit.
Again I am not complaining but your replys give the impression of "what on earth do you want now " attitude

Sorry if my answers are too short, I've got a lot going on around here besides this forum.
I simply do not have time. I think you can understand that.

I have updated Mp3+ manual with a section covering operation under low voltage,
plus frequency table etc. so that one is as complete as it goes.

There's a special I2C error troubleshooting manual as well. I think these are covered
as much as possible.

There won't be a 30 ver manual, if anyone needs to fix a problem they should consult this thread
here or contact me. I think we've covered pretty much any problem likely to be encountered, it is
a very simple device.

I appreciate you are involved in every aspect of your buisness and have very little time to spend on this forum. sometimes people want to intergrate products into their projects and it is very difficult without a circuit diagram.
I need to have manual control of RF inhibit on the maxpro3+ . I need it to be pll locked but with the RF muted and be able to change that condition to "on air" by externally controlling it. The logic and control is not a problem I just need to know how this part of the circuit works. You have recently shown in the manual a method to remove RF inhibit but I need a method to inhibit. Many thanks for your valuable time

I'm more than happy to help you implement this function.

There is a tiny double SMD diode close to the BNC antenna connector.

As you can see on the PCB only two pins are used, the third one is empty.

Supply 5V over 1K resistor to this empty pin and you have RF shutdown.
Also use one 1nF capacitor to ground to prevent RF problems.

Its a 1-minute job.

Let me know if there is anything else you need help with.

Also, since you asked for this I will include this function in the next
version some day, with dedicated 2-pin soldering pad.

No problem, glad to help. It may have been better to have this posted under MAX PRO 3+ manual, not LCD.
I may split this topic in two some day and move this half under mp3+.

If you need something, let me know.

Marko
