Using the external power supply with PCI Max 2006

Post by redlenses »

I was wondering...would I have an advantage using the external power supply on my PCI Max 3006? I currently have it in a killer Gateway system and I have no fan noise at all in my broadcasts.

Will I see a gain in power using the external supply? Will it take some strain off my CPU by using the external supply?

You will double your range by using external power supply. Just make sure it is stabilized
12V type and not the cheap chinese crapy one which gives 18-20V under no load.

Nope, that was from 2004-2005 models.

The LCD/LED module was changed in 2006 to be compatible
with all other devices (max pro 3, 4, se4 etc).
