Max Pro III 15w V1.2

Post by John »

Hi,
I recently purchased the above. It replaced a 500MW transmitter. Currently have it set to 35% RF and have found the quality to be really poor. Have set all areas to the recomended defaults but still distance is limited to 500 yards from the antenna and then get significant distortion. SWR is showing frwd 2 and reflected .5. I am not overmodulating. Close up the signal is really clear but it is not getting any distance. Nothing like the 500MW transmitter! The Antenna is a 1/2 wave dipole. Any ideas?

This indicates low power output.

1.) Set it to more than 35%.
The displayed power is not linearly tied to output power so
35% may not be 35% of maximum power, but only say 200mW.

2.) These units usually require 15V to give full 15W of power,
if you're using only 12V, maximum power might be just 7-10W.

Hi Mark,

The unit I purchased is a CyberMAXFM 15W DSP 2H rack with internal power?

Would this still create this issue?

In that case just give it more than 35% and let me know
how that goes.

Thanks for the quick response.

Tried it on full power and received an error 12c?

SWR has gone out to 1.5 relected and 12 forward? Is it ok to run it with the error?
