Thinking of WLAN

Emm i`m thinking of making a WLAN connection with my friend ca. 500m is our distance & I was thinking of using an old isa LAN card with coaxial output and a 2way amplifier, or somthing like that, but I don`t have any idea how this works, or even if such an amplifier exists? If anyone has any ideas or schematics on this plz help meee

Get two WiFi adapters with 2 high gain directional antennas. No cables.
