PCS 800W Low Pass Filter

Post by Carlos »

I am running and testing a new amplifier with all the modules (power supply, 600w pallet, filter, etc) just on the table before put them inside the rack and the filter warms up, I can barely touch the coils and board even after turning the system off. I wonder if this is normal or the filter temperature will run cool after connecting and mounting all inside the rack. Output power is about 450W and SWR 1:1.3

Thanks.

The filter needs to be in airflow that also goes across the amplifier/pallet heatsink so the fans cool everything together.

Under operation do not touch filter coils as you will experience RF burns, that is intense warming via RF current even when coil itself is cold.
