Watt to expect

Post by bganson »

Thanks for the info on possible problem with 15 watt amp. 13.8 into BCP56, nothing out.

With 13.8v, about 100mw in, good antenna (home made j pole swr less than 1.2) what should I expect for watts out of the 15 watt amp? The Daiwa shows about 3.5. I use a 7amp regulated power supply. I was trying for 15v with a not so good piece of junk power supply when I killed this thing. When it was too late I found I was spiking 18v.

I have explained to my daughter that all things electronic work on the madjic smoke principle, and I let the smoke out.

Those amps put out more power at 15V power supply than at 13.8V.

How is your SWR?
