New AM Transmitter

Post by CoolFM »

Maybe an idea to create also a "do it yourself" kit - except for the SMD parts on the PCB?
Maybe it can be sold cheaper then?

I'm also waiting for this new AM transmitter, I hope it will be not delated more then your time schedule from around september 2008!

greets

There are many projects going on right now. See the newly released MAX PRO 3000+,
this thing has very elaborate software to drive a wide range of options.

http://www.pcs-electronics.com/3000-nex ... -1317.html

Took some time to develop this beast. Those who monitor our site know that we also
recently released some other stuff, such as the 500W and 750W boxed amplifier, micromax RT2
RDS encoder, VU meter, SE3000 and SE5000... We have 4-5 products already fully developed
just waiting to be released.

We are currently working on a contracted project that includes AM modulation. When we conclude
that project we will use experience with AM MAX III. Parts of the technology from MAX PRO 3000+
will also be very useful. It is like a big mosaic where each part slowly comes into its place to produce
a masterpiece. It won't go out until I am happy with it.

This will be a very interesting autumn.

I will now take my much-deserved vacation to recharge my creativity batteries for the final
stage of development. Please behave nicely while I am gone, I do have people to watch over the
forum and kick any spamming ass.

Stay tuned!
Best regards,
Marko - PCS Electronics

Two XLRs on audio input stage

Post by giovanni »

Hi Marko!
Still waiting for AM MAX III... :o I hope it won't take a long time to come into the market.
Please keep in mind it will be useful if audio input stage would have two XLRs to make a mono sum of a stereo source. :)
Very often a stereo source coming from an audio processor is routed in simulcast mode to digital sound card input for web streaming and to am transmitter for analog on air broadcast at the same time.
This way a stereo to mono device between audio processor and transmitter won't be necessary anymore.
:D

XLR input will definitely be there, it is indispensible for AM since
the interference from RF can cause problems (hum or even
feedback).

Is there some news about the NEW AM Transmitter?

When - for example - it's become available?

&

Wil there also come a "do it yourself" kit?

Well, I made great progress with many of the projects and some
have already appeared on our website (VU meter, UHF TV transmitter,
new FM exciter, 1KW tx) and more will be available soon.

So the list of things to do before finishing AM is becoming short
and final prototype might be ready in October : :P

AM MAX II required a lot of work to put together, align and prepare for shipping.

It was basically not profitable, maybe just a beer per board sold.

AM MAX III

Post by CoolFM »

Hi Marko!

Any news/updates for/about the AM MAX III ?
When the expected date(s) that the item becomes available for a
great group of enthusiasts Free Radio makers is not reached..., maybe an idea to sell the AM MAX II again but then as a "Do-It-Yourself" kit...?
Many of us would be appriciate this I guess....

Best greets
