What am I doing wrong -> no fm reception at all

Post by Dipool »

Hi,

I just installed the PCIMAX Ultra on my WinXP pc. The card is properly setup and recognised and the software runs smoothly.
For test purposes (I don't have a decent antenna yet) I'm using a 30 cm wire of coax. But my tuners can't pick up anything at all. Even next to the antenna, I can't hear a thing.
And is there still a low/high power setting somewhere?

Any help?

Thx!

Again, let me first say that this is not generally ment to be support,
we don't read this every day. You'll get a much faster response
if you use the online feedback form or email us.

If you're using coaxial cable as an antenna you're not radiating anything.
Coaxial cable as such is shielded.

I'd try to use the provided short antenna/cable to see if that makes
any difference.
Best regards,

:( hi mate
me being stupid thought that if i replaced the little wire that comes as an aerial with 2 metres of RG58 i would get a better result in fact it only got worst i couldnt even hear mine at 1 foot so idealy if you had thought like me you would have done a big mistake.
if the wire provided is to short for you just take a normal piece of speaker wire and stick a paper clip to the end.
you will see the difference!!!
