PCI MAX 2007+ driver

Post by pcs »

Ok, guys, try this:

http://www.pcs-electronics.com/software ... sta_en.zip

Should support 2006 cards with one minor cosmetic problem, the stereo/mono
button will appear reversed. Meaning when you turn it on the card will be in mono
and vice versa.

Have fun and report all problems here!!

One side note:

If it fails to work immediately, manually run the "Install.bat" file in the
installation folder, simply click this file.

The file is usually in the c:/program files/pci max 2007+ directory.

I noticed that the icon in windows does not open the file. I have to go into the windows explorer and manually open it. I made a new icon shortcut to the file and all works now. Might want to check were the original icon is pointing to.

I noticed this myself yesterday, fixed it and uploaded about 1/2h later
after posting, perhaps you have old version?

Try to download it again. If someone reports it, I'll check, it should have
been fixed.

Mark,

This worked for me and I'm up and running using the 2007 driver.

I can use the card when it's inside the computer, but the output (500mw version) isn't great - some radio's are static filled and only a few metres away. This is using the included antenna. If I connect external mains, the static clears. An easier option though is dropping down to a wire antenna (static clears this way too). Any idea why this is?

Also, I tried to operate the PCI MAX 2007 external. When I connect the mains, the power light does not come on, and the transmitter is not transmitting (static on all radios). Any suggestions? I prefer to operate this external.

When used without external psu, the card gives out less than maximum
power level. This is why you're getting more signal when you're using one.

When used without the PC in standalone mode, you need to attach small
or big LCD module to set the power and frequency.

Just updated the driver to eliminate the two error messages related
to inf files that some users reported, please keep me updated how this
works for you guys. If there are any other problems please let me know.

I've done quite a bit of testing and this should work:

0.) Uninstall previous pci max driver versions
1.) Unzip this file into a folder of choice
2.) Run setup and let it complete
3.) Shut down the PC and install pci max card
4.) Go into the directory where you installed the program and run install.bat (just click it) and let it
complete to make sure inf files really get registered. A popup window could appear, just confirm or continue.
5.) PCI MAX should work now (but might require another reboot, usually not though).

I think we've taken care of the driver issues now and can concentrate on the really cool upcoming stuff, such as the
TV version of PCI MAX coming in January :)

OK, based on some of our observations we have a new driver out.

It seems we found the reason for problems with the drivers. Card would
sometimes change its PCIID code, usually after a reboot. We have tried
to find a software solution for the problem, new installation should cover all
bases. If at some point computer fails to find the card simply try to run one
of the other available icons (there are four pcimax exe files in the installation
folder).
You can also rerun the installation to see how that works out for you.

I hope some of you guys will try it out and let us know if this fixes the
problem so we can package it into a single-file exe.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

The file is at:

If it solves your driver problem please take a second to post that it works
and which exe you used.

Thank you for your patience, guys!

I would try without uninstall. If it fails to work, uninstall all
and reinstall new one.

I tried the new install without doing a PCI Max 2007+ uninstall, and it did not work. I then did the uninstall of the PCI Max 2007+software. Shut all down, took the PCI Max card out so I could do a total first time install. Did the new download, but did not get icon on desk top no big deal. Shut down the computer and reinstalled the PCI Max card. When I accessed PCI Max program I got " access violation at address 00469787 in module 'pc imax 2007 4159.exe.' Read of address 00000070." I tried PCI Max 2007 plus 6159, c159, e159 They all came up with the same Error message. I get the same Error message when I access any of the PCI MAX Control Panel. On the Power on button and the Stereo button, when I access the Power Increase button It locks the mouse pointer in the box with the same Error message. And I did the install.bat file refresh that did not work or change any of the Error message's. I did the Device Driver install and it said I had the latest Driver Installed. The Red Led light has not been on since the it quit working. [-o<

Ok, I made quite a few changes to the code today.
The two error messages during install should be gone.
It seems to work on my PC, but more testing will be done later today and tomorrow.

You can check it out here, its fresh today's build.

PCI MAX 2007 Quit

Post by dj3fires »

I still didn't have any luck, I downloaded the newest download it put a icon on the desktop. But when I open PCI Max 2007 program it gives me two errors.
1. Unable to open PCI MAX card. Try to move PCI Max to another PCI slot reinstall the driver.
2.Access violation at adress 00469787 in module 'Pcimax2007plus.exe.' Read of address 00000070.

After OK ing the two error messages. The PCI Max program came up in the task bar, but the PCI Max control panel did not come up on the desktop.

I tried the clicking on the install.bat file and that did not help.

Ok, I noticed it only worked on my PC and not on others so that was fixed.
Next, I noticed and fixed your problem with showing out of screen (due to my dual-view two monitor setup).

I think this is the big one, THE ONE you were all waiting for.
Anyone still having problems now should contact me via private messages/email and we'll see
about establishing whether this is a hardware problem and if not we can try a few things
to see what is going up.

Everyone, I hope this is it and we can all enjoy the final driver out for 98/XP/2003. Hopefully
it also works on Vista.

I'm moving this from the beta to the official download page!

Official download page is here:
http://www.pcs-electronics.com/support_dl.php
Look for (Feb 4th, 2008 - 4.63MB, exe file)
