MaxPro 3+ heatsinking

The final transistors on this transmitter are enclosed in a metal housing. I want to add a larger heat sink to these finals and am unsure how to go about it.

Can I disassemble the metal housing and use its hardware or must it for some reason remain intact?

Hi John,


The heat sinks on the MP3+ sandwich the transistor, these are rectangle in shape, one on the lower part of the PCB the other on the top, secured by two nuts and bolts.

That said not sure what advantages you would achieve by enlarging the existing sink, you should be running a cooling fan.
It is what it is...
