This is not driver issue.

PCI MAX is detected as network card as this chipset was primarily
designed for network cards. Its not a problem, but your pc thinks
it can boot from it.

In bios disable boot via network and it'll be fine. I doubt you will
ever need this feature.

Same problem, different icon.

The 2006+ driver appears to working, well sort of.

Upon boot-up I still get a beep and a warning that there is a conflict.

The PCI 2006 card is seen as a network card.

I have to push the F1 key to continue boot.

Someday...
@erobertg

Post your full pc configuration. It might help.

@pcs

Still problems with the rds with the latest driver.

1) Even with all this fileds i can not insert time and date to the text :)
2) Again You can not disable the RDS on the card it's just always on, (the button simply does not do nothing).
3) I might be missing something, but if you change one word from the default text which is 2 or 3 letters , you see the word with something else toghether !!!
4) Very big delay (blank ) after the complition of first loop of text it needs about a minute or more to start sending text again.

p.s i tried the serial way to update the card micro rtm1 but the program works very funny . It seems to have big problems in the update of text and parameters.(the first time i start the program works ok after that it's on the mood of the program/card to work or not)

1.) Nobody ever asked for this functionality, is it desired by anyone here?
2.) The button is only there to hide/show the panel with RDS settings which it accomplishes fully. If you should desire to
entirely disable RDS, remove the RDS daughter board or set the carrier level trimmer to zero.
3.) Each PS field is 8 characters. You need to fill the empty space with blanks.
4.) Make sure to set the delay (PD00-PD16) for non-used PS fields to zero.

I think what we need now is a manual for this and not a new driver. And maybe if its too complex
perhaps we should go back to just one PS and one RT.

I think you've overslept two intermediate versions :)

@PCS

You did not understand what button i was talking about. There is an arrow and and on / of button for rds. I am not talking about the arrow i am talking about the rds one. If i can not disable/enable the rds function .you may remove it...it will save you space :) .

Also thank you for other the explanations .

Last thing is that i can make tha card to work with p3 systems.

Its designed that way, to open-up the bottom side of the settings window. Not to turn RDS
carrier on or off.

Card is here and installed. I went through the same problems I read on here. Error 105 and an memory address conflict. I unstalled everything, loaded the 2004 driver, it worked kind of so I uninstalled that and reinstalled the 2006 driver, it decided it would work after that :D . But the driver as suppled still has a problem somewhere.

VMware is sweet software too, so you could at least try installing something from a fresh OS to see the problems people are having.

Hmm, I tried the newer driver, but it didn't still recognise the card. Oh well, I might try some more fiddling and see if I can get it up.

VMWare does not support PCI Bus adapters. It is a basic system. You can't install exotic cards into it.

I tried to do the wdreg line and I got Failed opening INF file c:\windows\system32 line 0: The system cannot find the file specified. I checked and the file is there. What to do?

driver crashed and now I can't get the 2006 version to run

Post by MaryB »

Well after running ok for a while the driver crashed when I had to replace a network card. Now I can't get the 2006 driver to work no matter what I do. The unable to open card move card etc errors. Total uninstall and install of the 2004 driver has it running again for now. This is on Win2kpro.

A new PCI MAX 2007+ driver is expected this week.
It will be backward compatible with the 2006+.

Stick around this week and try it out, than let us know
so we can fix any quirks.

Well, I've been running some tests now and it seems that the installation
sometimes fails to run this:
wdreg -inf windrvr6.inf install

One workaround is to run this command in command prompt, best done in pci max installation
folder so you don't need to enter any path.

This fixes the problems for now. I will now try to figure out why installation program is not
always doing this by itself. I may include a batch file so you can just click it to run this command,
if everything else fails.

Also, have a look at the other thread with a registry fix so you don't have to move card into another slot.
Basically you need to look for this key and remove it. Before you do it right click on it and set permissions
so that it lets you delete it (it usually does not by default)
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\VEN_6159&DEV_0001&SUBSYS_00010001&REV_00]

These two workarounds should help until we get the new driver out (just working on it).
