FM Booster?

Post by Bolshevikman »

Hey i am new to radio and for my first attempt i am hoping to build something that can pick up a weak fm signal and re-broadcast it. I would like to be able to transmit on the same frequency. I only need to broadcast in about a one or two mile radius so i am only thinking about 1 to 4 Watts of output. I have already read some about making a transmitter but i want to simultaneously recieve and rebroadcast a signal. What exactly would be the best way to do this?

This is a problem since its very hard to isolate receiver from your transmitter.

What is usually done in such situations is that the receiver and transmitter are not
operating on the same frequency. If this cannot be avoided, directional antennas are
used and both devices need to be shielded considerably and are best kept in separate
boxes and antennas far apart.

We did something similar once for special order:

but I'd recommend using different frequency for rx and tx.
