I've always wanted to explore places or areas with a car, so I want to put an infrared camera, the bare camera piece that you solder onto the circuit board kind of camera lens piece. And I also want it to transmit up to 2 miles if possible, at least half a mile.
I also need a basic video receiver which obviously received what the 'rover' sees and I want it to have RCA output jacks to plug it into my tv.
I know for a fact this is possible because just look at the Mars rover. I don't care about cost. I just need some advice on where to learn this or a schematic or something.
I also kind of really need this because I was gonna use this to patrol my car outside. Lately some punks have been vandalizing things in teh neighborhood and if I could catch them I could show the police.
Thanks a bunch in advance.
NEED HELP with a video transmitter and receiver

Check the ATV stuff (radioamateur tv).
They've got some neat solutions, with ready-to-go PCBs etc.
I've seen some of this stuff in this book.
