PCI Ultra Max Legal Requirements for USA????

Post by RadioDevil »

:-?

I was wondering. We currently use the SAM2 broadcaster for an internet Radio Station. I have noticed the ability to add the PCI Ultra Max card, power booster, etc. We are very interested in doing this being that there are very few stations in the area with decent reception due to the region. My question is would there be any FCC licensing requirements we would have to go through to use this with this suystem and a 10 watt power booster and external antenna?

Thanks,

The answer is yes. Yes, the FCC requires you to license anything basically above 1 watt. But, considering the FCC turns a blind eye to ones roughly under 5 watts and who never interfere with another station. Being a pirate would lend you almost no chance of getting caught. (Although, I wouldn't recommend it.)

As far a getting approval. You would need to file a LPFM (Low Power FM). Read more here:
