i ordered a CYBER MAX FM+ 150W and i am required to use a band pass filter and i have a 125W one in my band from progressive concepts but the transmitter is 150w i know i can limit the power in the software but i am worried some one may accentually change it as i am working with a group of peps is it posable to limit the power to something in the 100w to 125w so that it wont mistakenly burn out the band pass filter in case u were wondering its a .2mhz filter so it protects me from interfering with any other station
i am wondering if i can push 150w thru the filter but i really dont want to break it
here is the filter sorry if posting external links aren't allowed but here is the filter remove the link if it volates the rules
Edit: removed link
thank you

Hi,
after you've set the power to 125W or 100W open the unit cover, note there is a jumper on the LCD display? Remove that jumper and LCD keys will be disabled.
You can even install a small key-lock, it is listed here:
http://www.pcs-electronics.com/maxpro-5 ... -1845.html
Transmitter keylock (optional)
By the way, additional filter is probably not even needed as it is already built-in.

lock out software
is it posable to lock out the software too so it will only update RDS and display tx status
ps sorry about posting the link
how clean is the transmitter would it be up compare able to say a Harris or Crown maybe BEXT i know there in 2 different price ranges but i have seen very noisey LP FM transmitter like my old pcimax and ramsey Chinese ones (note the pcimax not as bad as the ramsey but can be noisy a bit under some conditions witch is why i like the Band Pass to prevent any big issues as its only allows my freq thru) i assume there is a Low pass Filter in it but i think band pass would protect me from most issues
now that being said do u think it is very clean
i wish i knew about a key lock i did not see it in the option page otherwise i would have had it installed
http://www.pcs-electronics.com/cyber-150w-p-220.html
may i ask what type of power supply is used is it a liner one or a switching based one

If you want to go extra mile and use band pass, you can of course do so.
Hardware lockout is via that jumper (see previous post).
You can also place software limit, but not to any value. 100W, 150W, 200W, 250W,300W etc.
In your case 100W would be a suitable choice. If you do this the LCD will only let you set a max of 100W and this limitation will also apply to remote control via USB/Ethernet.
If you want to do this email me and I will tell you how.
PS: old pcimax had a basic low pass filter, the new PCIMAX3000+ has a decent 7-element LC low pass and a very clean VCO/PLL.
