AM Max II - is it still available possibly?!?

Post by celspid »

Hello PCS. Is it true that the AM Max II is still available via the following website link;
h**p://www.toko-elektronika.com/index.php?h=9&ItemID=1459

And if so, it is very much overpriced in the local Indonesian currency. I would like one of these transmitters and would be interested to know did you supply them with AM Max II's or was it the other way round. Are they the original supplier of the boards?
I very much doubt I'll buy one off them though as they are far too expensive on that site.

Thanks :)

Since they are so terribly overpriced I invite you to create a much cheaper product
in one of the sweat-shops in Indonesia.

We will buy them from you, no problem, I propose a price of 10 US$.

When can we place first order?

PS: I've been looking at Ferrari the other day and it is extremely overpriced,
do you think you can make one for me for 100US$?
Best regards,

Hi Marko. Sorry, but I think you misunderstand me. I meant to put it across that they are very much higher priced than the price PCS used to charge for the AM Max II. That is all I meant. I would much rather buy off PCS at the PCS price :)

Are you familiar with this company? Thanks :D

Hi Marko, thanks for getting back. I fully understand your reasons for stopping the sale of the AM Max II, such as too much work involved and little or no profit margin. In my view it is a premium product and could theoretically sell for a higher price than now thus giving you that higher profit margin. I should know as I bought an AM Max II off you, so I know they are very good transmitters. It's just a shame they are no longer available from you guys that's all. I wouldn't trust buying from Indonesia online, I think it has a bad reputation. It's one of those countries you hear about, a bit like Nigeria :)

Celspid,

I notice Marko didn't answer your question as to, Did PCS sell to the Indonesian company or did the company sell to PCS. PCS always gave the impression the transmitter was their own creation and implied that they had now developed an up-date with DSPversion for us all to enjoy. It would very strange that an Indonesian company would choose to take a product from the PCS range and reverse engineer it and re-sell it.Whats even stranger is that the product description is word for word the same. Even if they were to to use the wording the same, if you look at the picture and expand it. It has the letters PCS on it.

I designed AM MAX and all our own PCS products so I can say with 100% certainty that
we are not buying them from Indonesia.

Whether that shop really has this on stock is a big question. Maybe they have one of the old units.

I personally would be very wary of buying anything online from Indonesia. There is a possibility of deception here. If they were indeed a legitimate company then they would allow the sale of a single AM transmitter. Plus if you do buy one please make sure you use a credit card for your security. I'm not sure if they take credit cards though. At least that way you will be able to get a refund off your credit card company should it turn out to be a con!

They dont actually have a product, I think.
They copied the photo off our website, including product description.
And if someone bites and orders 100 they plan to make a copy. That's my guess.

It is very questionable whether they can really do this, especially since they
don't have software and there's DSP on the original board as well.

So I do not recommend it, almost definitely a scam.
We have guys from Indonesia trying with fake credit cards almost
every day.
