Yep, it should work.

I say first try the regular RCA inputs and if that doesn't take away the hum consider other options. No need to spend more money than necessary.

RadioShack sells balanced to unbalanced converters, kind of audio isolation transformer.

You have to use another input plugin for Winamp, otherwise the audio doesn't go through Sound Solution. I'm pretty sure this is what I've used before:
