Backend of power supply

Post by RadioMan »

Just a thought. I built another power supply using a "wall wart" for the transformer and rectifier. Then all I had to build was the regulator (7815), a small circut to increase the current using a transistor and some caps for filtering.

I know you guys don't ship products like MAX PRO I & II with a power supply because of weight and increased cost for shipping. How about building in the regulation & filtering, with a a plug-in jack or pad to wire in a wall wart? You cost would be rather small and I think people would pay for the convienice of just finding a wall wart (I found a 15volt-1amp wart at a salvation army store for just $2.00).
