I'm doing this via email, but I think it's something someone else may run into, so am going to post to the forums here.

Basic problem: Windows XP is recognizes the PCI Max 2007 as a 'Network Controller' - and then doesn't recognize the drivers from the installed folder on the C drive (C:\Program Files\PCI Max 2007, etc ).

Marko suggested this:
Note that there is install.bat file in the C:\Program Files\PCI Max 2007 folder,
run it and see if it helps solve the problem. (Didn't work - ie, no change in symptoms)
If not, try the 2004, 2005 drivers off our website here:
http://www.pcs-electronics.com/support_dl.php

Often people end up using 2004 in the end to solve the problem.

1st suggestion didn't work - and the neither did the others. Following is the detailed symptoms from the latter.

I tried uninstalling the 2007 software, and then tried the following drivers as suggested with the following results (card uninstalled first, uninstalled 2007, installed 2004/2005/ 2007 software, then installed card):

2004 - got error message saying that the install was forced to quit. Tried both with card in machine and out. This happens after clicking next, next and then th "Choose your own frequency advertisement" pops up.

Quickly followed by this error message: "FM radio card has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. For more information about this error click here...pop up = Error signature AppName pcimax setuip.exe AppVer 0.0.0.0 Modname pcimax setup.exe Mod ver 0.0.0.0 Offset 00001e08

2005 - software installed ok, but XP keeps insisting that the PC Max 2005 folder doesn't have the right drivers. And XP reports that it's trying to install a 'Network Controller' (not sure if that has anything to do with it, but for what it's worth, there you go.

2007 - exact same symptoms as 2005. Also tried running the install.bat file with no change in symptoms.


And am waiting to see if I need to do a complete uninstall of 2007/ 05 software including reg key - and what would that entail. Or otherwise what to do?

I am quite depressed. I received my PCS 2007+ board and cannot get the driver to load. Have followed all instructions to the letter and tried everything in the preceding post. No success.

I removed the board from my streaming computer and put it into the production computer. Both systems are XP PRO. Same problems exactly. Is the only way to make this unit work just removing it from the PC and buying the LCD display and using it as a stand alone unit?

I have the driver PCImax2007 instaled.

The pcicard put in the lock of my pc..
I can open the program, the red candle end fire on the PCIcard, but I have no output?

I got my card today and I am having the same problem as SteppedUp.

Anyone have any sugesstions?

Update: Nevermind, I ran install.bat and it worked.

I sure could use some help. I just installed my PCIMAX2007 card today but it can't install the hardware because it cannot find the necessary software.
I also can't find the install.bat file. I looked in C:/programs/pcimax2007

Any advise is appreciated.

Take your card out of your pc.
1.Delete all drivers regarding the PC Max and delete all device related hardware from device manager
2.Restart your pc
3.Install latest driver on your PC (http://www.pcs-electronics.com/software ... _XP_en.exe)
4.Shut down your pc
5.Install PCI Max in your pc
6.Start your pc and driver during the process Finding new hardware
7.If no driver is found point the driver manual in the installation process, if its not working,....skip the process.....
8.go to programfiles where the pcimax driver is installed and click on the Bat file
9.klik on your icon desktop program
PCI should now running again.

Remember automatic updates from Windows XP like service pack 3 can have a negative inpact on the driver and operational working of the PCI Max transmitter.

If you have SP3 installed try to go back in history backup before the installation op SP3 and start following the steps above again.

Use system restore function to go back "before the installation of Sp3".

XP Sp3 should not cause problem with latest driver.

Another comment, there is no install.bat anymore
with latest driver.

Just make sure to remove old driver and any remaining
pcimax.inf variations before installing the new one to make
sure windows uses the new driver only.

Hello! Well it seems I have the software end working. At least I have the PciMax 2007+ v2 RDS pop up. When I am in SAM Broadcaster and click on PCI Max ultra it says it cannot find the hardware because it cannot find the software to install it.

Becoming more boggled!
Any ideas?

I'd say everything is ok than.

Sam never managed to add support for the new cards. Their last supported model is ultra.
I suggest you email them about it, we gave them sample cards, source code and offered
any support they could want.

But I am puzzled why you need to have sam support? Does it make such a big
difference to you whether you set frequency with our utility or the one in SAM?
The end result is identical.

Hello! When i open the PCI Ultra it says, Error: Cannot open win device. If I click anything that is when it comes up PCI Ultra can't be found. I will also email SAM about it also.

honestly you do not need the Sam control gimmick at all.
use the PCS one - it runs silently down in your task bar no problem at all.
I have both & have used both - and choose to use the PCS control instead.

LOL! Still confused here. I emailed SAM and they said: They indeed send us source code & a driver - but at the time their card was still in BETA and it did not work. Thus direct support into SAM was not implemented.

However, this should not prevent you from using the card with SAM.
Just use their software to configure the card and then use SAM to manage the audio.

As you said bezerk, i am using the PCS control in the taskbar but evidently, still having problems.
Maybe once I figure out what all the drop downs are, I may find myself up and running.
