Here's a compilation of possible problems people have and a fix or workaround:

1. Driver installation problem in Windows 7 64-bit
Symptom: An error about a missing library is displayed during installation
What's up: This is a known Microsoft's problem with one of the VB libraries in Windows 7. Typically it only shows on new systems with not much software installed.
Workaround: Seems installing MS office fixes the problem with the library. You can uninstall it afterwards immediately.

2. Problem with PC not recognizing USB devices (sound card and COM port).
Symptom: No USB COM port and no USB sound card are detected
What's up: This is a rare issue, seems to affect about 1% of PCIMAX cards out there. The problem is that the USB hub is not properly reset.
Workaround1: If you create a short with precision tweezers across the shown component (capacitor) this resets the USB HUB manually and it will enumerate properly. There is a chance that the problem will appear again after some time. The component that needs to be shorted is shown below:

Workaround2: A permanent solution for your card requires a soldering iron and a 1/4W resistor of any value between 10K and 22K. Step 1 is removal of one SMD resistor. To do this heat one end of the resistor with soldering iron, wait about 5 seconds for both ends of the resistor to desolder and just push it off the board gently, step 1 below:

Step2: Install the 1/4W resistor below as shown on the photo:

All boards shipping from today onward have this fix applied and you do not need to do this. Only perform this if you are having problem with your PC not detecting USB devices.

Are you getting this error message:
"Component 'mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid "
Here is the solution, download the file from this microsoft webpage here:
http://www.vistaheads.com/forums/micros ... basic.html
Install that exe file, it installs common VB libraries and thereby eliminates the error.
