Hello,

I have just received the RDS module for the PCI MAX 3000+ I have plugged the module into the PCI MAX but there is a black wire coming off the card - I have no idea where this plugs into.

The RDS board is not working either, I have a constant flashing red light on the board.

I haveemailed a picture of the received board.

Regards

Nick

Found the problem, there was a short on the RDS board where the black wire was soldered to. I also managed to figure out that the connector plugs into the RDS jumper on the PCI MAX.

The manual in the download section could do with some work to explain the RDS board. The RDS instructions that are there are to do with the MAX Pro exciters.

Hey Nick,

you are correct, that part of the manual was not updated since
pcimax 2007+. Previous version did not require installation of that wire.

Basically all rds encoders were modified for 3000+ model and
probably this error happened in modification process.
Congratulations on spotting that and figuring it out yourself!

I apologize for the problems, hope you have fun with the boards.

My mini RDS board came with only black wire does this go to GND or RX on the RS232 connector on PCI MAX 3000+ PC card . Also note no connector end on the wire to plug in to card, I will solder this to appropriate pin. Any Help would be appreciated.

The wire goes to RX!
