DIP frequency selection and comparison

Post by Gregtheham »

Considering buying the MaxPro 2015 V2.
I cannot find specifics for DIP switch setting for frequency selection.
Will the DIP switch’s give full band frequency selection possible , or only a factory limited group of frequencies?
The manual seems designed for use with optional control boards and little info on DIP /jumper use only.

The product info describes this unit as being updated to “version 3”, yet price list and item description only shows “-V2” (version 2)
Which version is shipped and price ? (Appear to be V2, but no where to buy V3)
Is Version 3 available for purchase and cost .?

Finally, I am looking for better spectral purity and fewer spurs vs price.
Considered the DDS STMAX 3015+ VS the Maxpro 2015+
It is primary for talk radio, so mono ok at this time (and for better range?)

However high currency exchange rate and delivery costs to Canada also affects decision . (This makes inferior Chinese product at 1/2 the price a temptation, but have had micro-controller failure a common problem )

Naturally, reliably between the 2 PCS choices is a factor.

Any advice appreciated.
Tnx

DIP switch table is in the manual.

V3 is shipping.

V2 are no longer available.

I wholehartedly recommend 8015 exciter and SE8000 stereo encoder. You will be not regret the investment.

And if you want, you can also buy the combo board where the two are both on one single board:

STMAX are very popular and sound good. The problem with them is their signal is not so clean (spurious).
Not a factor if you live in a rural environment away from big cities.

Thanks for the info...I just could not see the frequency DIP table when I looked...but
I did find it in the manual you linked to...thanks.

I’d love to step up to the better quality Maxpro 8015 ,as you recommend but with the weak Canadian Dollar, and unknown extra brokerage fees and import tax , it’s just way out of my affordable range. ( price close to triple to import for us)

Thanks for info on the STMAX spurs...I don’t want that, As I may be using it in a city area with crowded bands....that’s why I thought the basic Maxpro 2015 the better option. ....especially because it is affordable, but better build?

But, Maybe I will hold off until I can save for the complete Maxpro 8015 STR kit with stereo.

Thanks for your help..

If you pay with bank transfer we can ship it with regular mail. This takes 2-4 weeks, but is cheap and goes through customs usually without problems.
Only for small packages up to 2Kg max.

To arrange this you have to contact us directly.
