MAX PRO 2015+ - need help filling in the gaps

Post by benoliver999 »

Apologies in advance for the barrage of questions.

I'm trying to get a rig set up, but I'm worried I'm missing something.

Here's what I'm looking to get my hands on:

- MAX PRO 2015+ (w/ LCD display & front panel)
- SE2000+
- Low power half wave sleeve dipole antenna
- PSU 15V/4A
- Die cast aluminium enclosure - 188x120x82mm
- Small fan

I am a little unsure as to what cables I need to hook it all up. I have a USB cable, localised power cable for the PSU & I think the SE comes with a maxlink.

- Does the LCD come with a ribbon cable?
- What part to I need to convert the aerial from F to BNC?
- What do I need to connect the SE audio to the tx?

Also, do you think the enclosure is about right, or is it worth getting one smaller one for each PCB to keep them separate?[/list]

Hi,

1. LCD comes with flat cable.

2. A good case solution (not as cheap though) is this one:

Eliminates drilling and cutting, the boards and LCD fit inside.

3. SE2000 and SE5000 require MAXLINK flat cable, this cable is listed under these stereo encoder so you can order it:
30cm Maxlink/I2C cable (FM exciter to stereo encoder). You will also need about 10cm of audio cable, this is usually shielded microphone cable. You can take it from old broken headphones or microphone you probably have somewhere at home.

4. You don't need USB cable really. If you want to connect the unit to computer make sure to take the USB IO board (listed under MAXPRO2015).

5. The rest looks ok.

You may want to check out this:

It is not as cheap, but comes with everything on one single board, including RDS.
