150W PA BLF278 broken ?

Post by ludo_lx13 »

Hello,
My palette 150w amplifier transistor BLF278 generates a lower power signal at the beginning. I noticed that the power supply generated abnormal noise, as if this one was shorted. The supply voltage is much lower than 27V. I tried with a load resistor and this is the same. The BLF278 transistor has a black mark on the sides but no more. Also it always as hot as it seems to me defective. Is it broken? How could I remain so quickly before ordering another? This can come from the power module? Thank you

150W PA with BLF278 makes no sense. The BLF278 is a 300W 48V MOSFET.
The supply voltage is much lower than 27V
Power supply seems to obviously be your problem.
