Maxpro 3000+ SWR

Post by coast fm »

Hi, I have a maxpro 3000+ (very pleased with it!) connected to a broadcast concepts 600w amp and broadcast concepts low pass filter. I have the SWR/Power set to external and in the display settings I have it set to External Hi Sens. The power meter works fine but the reflected reads very low.

For example, with 20w reflected power showing on the Bird meter I only get a reading of 0.3 with the swr control P4 set to max

Is it possible to increase the sensitivity of the SWR input?

It is possible by changing firmware, but you can't do that yourself.

What you can do yourself is use a small DC amp with an operational amplifier, such as this:

Make sure your opamp allows rail-to rail inputs, such as ti2371.
