Does anyone have any links or plans they could share on building a homebrew circularly polarized antenna?
Thanks!

I couldn't find anything on RadioShack's website. Would this work?

Best way to connect sound card to XLR inputs
Not having used balanced XLR connections before, I'd like to find out what the best way is to send audio from a PC sound card (stereo mini plug) to the XLR inputs on the CyberMaxFM? I am assuming that it is not possible to keep the line balanced by just using cable adapters since the audio card outp...

Question re: 1/4 Wave Ground Plane Measurements
I am making a simple 1/4 wave ground plane antenna and have two rather silly question regarding its measurements. 1. I've attached an SO-239 connecter to a 5x5 inch aluminum plate. When measuring the radial length, I measure from the center conductor of the SO-239 to the end of the radial taking int...

Sound Solution - best free multiband limiter/compressor available. There are also plenty of very nice presets available if you are wary of tinkering with all of the settings. It is, however, a Winamp DSP plugin, so if you aren't running Winamp or an MP3 player using compatible plugins, you may have ...

Re: PCI Max & Soundcards
I was just wondering...how does the sound quality of the broadcast compare using different sound cards? I have an el-cheapo soundcard that came with my computer and was wondering if it was worth it to upgrade to something of a little higher quality. Would I or my potential listeners be able to tell...

Re: Laptop PCI Max Compatable? ... Maybe
How easy (and how much time) is involved with tuning a Yagi Antenna? They can be tricky to tune unless the one you have is made for the FM broadcast band. If it is, then you adjust the driven element and gamma match for low SWR. Unless you need the directivity, I'd stick with an omnidirectional or ...

Re: coper wire gage
I may have over done it. The thickest coper wire at home depot is gage 6, it's way to thick to twist to make the connection to the coax. So I'm wondering if there is an alternative way to make the connections or should I get a thinner wire? Try using small metal hose clamps to make the connection. ...

Corny Pirate Joke
A pirate walks into a bar. He has a steering wheel sticking out of his pants. The bartender asks, "Doesn't that thing hurt?". The pirate replies, [pirate accent] "Aaarrr, it's drivin' me nuts!"

New product ideas
Marko, There are two things missing from LPFM manufacturer's product lines: 1) A low cost modulation/deviation monitor. 2) A QRP SWR/Power meter covering the FM broadcast band accurate from 10mW-5 watts. If PCS could develop either one of these products (especially #1), I think they would be a big h...

Re: Antenna set up for home use
What do you recommend for my antenna set up.. both on the transmitter and the receiver (the main living room receiver is about 20 feet away). What kind of antenna (on each)? Recommendations on antenna placement? If your receiver is 20 feet away, the simple wire that comes with the PCI-Max should do...

What is the JavaMax II?
I just ran across this ad on E-Bay. Is this a rip-off of PCS Electronics' design? [-X It says that it is manufactured by Javanni, Inc. By the look of it, it's more than likely that it is one of the older PCI Max cards. It even mentions a 15 watt amplifier add-on. Marko - is this a distribution model...

Limiter Lights
The description of PCI Max 2005 states that: "Two tiny LEDs are now located on every PCI MAX 2005 board and you can see them light whenever they cut modulation peaks." For best sound quality, should I adjust Winamp's volume control until the lights no longer glow during peak volume or shou...
