thanks for the reply Marko. Your tips are noted and will be applied. As for the 48v supply, kinda been looking for something suitable that will fit inside a 4ru 19" rack enclosure but have not seen much in this size around. Most 48v supplies with any real amperage seem to be monsters. But I am ...

Amplifier enclosure question

hi guys, I'll be receiving an pallet amplifier (300w fm300-108 with mrf151G) and have a question regarding setting it inside an enclosure. I originally planned on putting the pallet along with a big heatsink inside a 4RU aluminum rack enclosure with a Lambda powersupply and low pass filter. I have b...

I should also mention that i have added a small metal box shield around the vco section as suggested in the manual figuring this would give added stability.

tks

Marko, i can't be overmodulating as i have not yet connected any audio source. The power supply is a good quality power-one type swiching power supply. Unit is in a metal enclosure but without the cover at this point. The internal power supply (power-one) is providing 12vdc of excellent filtered reg...

question about using caps

hi guys, can someone shed some light on the subject of using capacitors within a transmitter enclosure for me. I have noticed quite a few people use caps on their rca audio cables usually between the braid on the rca cable and the enclosure panel where an rca connector is fastened. What are the valu...

just a thought. An antenna designed or that looks somewhat like a tv antenna would be nice :) kinda incognito

micro yagi? Directional yes but with a small rotor it would keep a spin on things, maybe even a little harder to hunt down\zero in on especially at <15w

comments?

question on 12v dc fan noise

hello, i guess its quite common to pick up noise from a dc fan installed in a transmitter case. I'm wondering if the noise typically comes from the 12v fan being on the same power feed as the other gear or is it usually picking the noise up elsewhere. The power supply i will be using has both 12v an...
