I would love for a T-shirt design for my station:
Hi, I'm "Special J. Lonely" from: The New Pirate FM and I would love for a design to be made for my station @ 91.9 FM. If anybody is capable of creating one with my logo, and producing about a dozen or so, please contact me, and I will be happy to talk with you. ((Radioboy)) Special J. Lon...

re: Well done, RadioBoy!
Thanks for your kind comments Marko. I really enjoy entertaining the local listeners with my unique brand of "Aural Gratification" and I'm proud to say I have developed quite a number of loyal listeners. It's kind of like a special little club of folks who really look forward to tuning in ...

I choose to attract the discriminating listener
I'm honored Marko seemed to enjoy a recent aircheck of my little station, enough so to post it here and share it with others. Fact is, I couldn't have reached this stage if it weren't for PCS. Having been involved in clandestine broadcasting since I was about knee high to a gates board and turntable...

Hey Francie- I know we messaged each other a few weeks back, and I did promise I would try to get something out to you, after first sharing some information about programs & such, here's the deal (and take it as an excuse if you must) but due to the fact my sister was recently attacked and stabb...

re: software you need to make your own ID or whatever
I believe what you are referring to is a station ID/Sweeper, and in order to produce your own ID or Sweeper, you must have an audio engine (software) package which allows you to record a voice track, edit that track, and then mix it together with a music or production element to produce the desired ...

is it worth the rick to go pirate?
That is a personal decision which -ONLY- YOU can make. For me, since I am not greedy, and limit my time on air to a few hours on the weekend, after hours when the local college station signs off. The fact I know I have a clean transmitter and crank out a nice signal within about 12-14 miles (in my a...

Real World experience with the Cybermax 15
For what it's worth, I'm from the NY/L.I. area (USA) and I have the Cybermax 15, with a comet antenna (NOT optimally placed, only slightly above ground level, although my home is located on a hill, and so we are somewhat higher overall amoung the other houses in the community) and I can tell you run...

with all due respect Sir Nigel
What is posted on a radio message board (all be it, a very popular site, and one which I frequent very often myself) I'm not convinced that the hype and rhetoric the big two sattelite companies claim is entirely the whole truth, especially with some of the second and third generation equipment. I wi...

re: really doubt...
you would be incorrect in that assumption, any addressable box which XM or Sirius puts out can easily discern what you are listening to, when, and for how long, and if you doubt me, ask them to prove me wrong.

re: how many people are tuning in to your frequency?
If there were such a way to achieve the number of persons tuned into a given frequency (over the air, via standard AM/FM frequencies) trust me- Arbiton (or whatever ratings service is applicable in your neck of the woods) would have jumped on that band wagon the second it was tested & proved. Of...

Monitoring off air
Just to toss in my 2-cents worth, I prefer to monitor off air. The advantage is, you can get a much better sense of how your modulation is and set the level from your sound source more appropriatly. With walkmans and cd-players that have fm built in pretty much standard now a days, it behooves me to...

Rob, I'm responding to your post in all sincerity and not trying to come off as a snob or eletist, so please take this advice from someone who's placed several stations on the air over the last quarter century, and who has taken the time to research the needs of the station, taking into account the ...

Q: What would happen if I attempted to run 2-antennas?
I am curious as to what the ramifications would be if I were to run two antennas off of one transmitter would me. I currently have the Cybermax 15-20 xmtr. I have a Comet antenna as well as a dipole antenna. During my testing phase I've been alternating between both (which are at different heights a...

re: u think the station could be profitable
If you pursue the "for profit" interest in what essentially and arguably *hobby broadcasting* then you are not only setting yourself up for an eventual shutdown, but will likely catch the ear and eyes (depending how you plan to sell time) of the local authorities who would love nothing mor...

re: apologized for having to turn off my station
That's what microbroadcasting *RESPONSIBLY* and with good, tuned, and maintained equipment may yield it's operator. I learned this lesson long ago when I was first involved with pirate broadcasting. I was lucky enough to be exposed to it by a guy who was a stickler for technical excellence, and took...

CyberMax (( Stereo )) Rocks!
I noticed this is the one section which doesn't seem to have anything posted in it, so I thought why not go ahead and be the first. I received my CYBER MAX FM about a month ago, and after going through the setup phase and performing some testing, working out a few glitches, I have begun to enjoy bro...

Slight hum (possible RF?) on the bnc connector
I've received Cyber MAX FM about a month ago and have been very pleased with it. The level of support I've received (due to my lack of understanding of some things) has been outstanding. Kudos to Marko and his crew for engineering a great product. After a few minor items I got ironed out, there is o...
