Re: Did you get it working?
I am considering purchasing one of these little guys from ebay. They seem pretty cheap for what you get. Fission 7x - did you get yours working? Did you add a filter? How big is your heat sink? I would like to drive mine with a Ramsey FM25B at about 10mW, and I would be happy to get 1W RF out. Any ...

Amplifier Input Power...
Many of the FM transmitter amps on the market list a value for power input and most that I've seen use 1 watts, 4 watts or similar. Would there be a problem driving these amps with a 250mw output or lower transmitter?

These things are linear meaning they waste too much power, probably get quite hot for the mere 2W it produces. Another thing is there is no filter, you'll likely produce harmonics and possibly cause interference problems to your neighbours. I was warned to use a heatsink. Are there any good filter ...

Building FM AMP from Motorola 13414500 module???
I just bought a Motorola 13414500/09H 9244 broadband amplifier module. http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/2/3925moto-amp-2.jpg Seller claims building a 1 watt FM transmitter amp is as easy as: http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data/2/3925moto-amp.jpg Is it really that easy? Seems like there should b...

If you know a specific frequency, you can try either one of these: The Belkin TuneCast II (~$30us) Or better yet, the C.Crane transmitter (~$70US). There's also an easy mod to boost the C.Crane's output. If you don't know the specific frequency or want to cover many frequencies, I think I remember r...

Quarter wave antenna
Now, I know there are much better antennas out there than the one I'm about to propose, but humor me until my roll of RG-213 gets here and I can finish my half wave dipole. Question: What's better: A 1/4 wave "whip" antenna made from a piece RG-213 with both the center conductor and the gr...

Re: Double edged Sword question
I found a couple of articles on the net about it.Fission7x wrote:This "skin" effect sounds interesting. Where can I go to read about it?

Half-Wave Antenna Questions...
I found these formulas somewhere on the net: 492/fo MHz = The length (feet) of a half wavelength dipole in free space. The specifications call for multiplying the above result by a correction factor read from a graph which is based on the ratio of the length of the half-wavelength to the diameter of...

This makes it very dangerous to amplify any of these devices, you will likely radiate into close-by channels and you may get in trouble. Those chips were designed for immediate local area use (a few meters) and are perfect for that purpose, but NOT FOR BROADCASTING! You have been warned! That's jus...
