cliffyk, Your explanation of how digital is being implemented on the FM band is different than how I imagined. Apparently the digital signals on AM is different as the bandwidth is 10 kc. I am familiar with some other digital broadcast where the carrier width on frequency is from between 1.8 and 2.3...

I don't think HD radio is going to take off yet. Many people don't want to go out to buy a new radio just to get the digital channels. Even then the quality isn't all that great from what I've heard. However your question was about whether anyone was using the HD radio equipment, and given the high...

There are some passive (transformer) bal/unbal audio converters available at radio shack, but not cheap. Good point, using balanced inputs had slipped my mind as hadn't been doing that while using my laptop... Yes, I have balanced inputs on the transmitter and I think I have balanced inputs on the ...

I have several extra servers sitting around that use on the board sound cards, the sound from these computers is/are very noisy... Can anyone recommend a sound card that has a good S/N ratio that would be suitabl...

Brokeback Cowboy
A rugged cowboy from Brokeback Mountain, Wyoming, goes into the doctor's office and has some tests run. The doctor comes back and says, "I am not going to beat around the bush, You have AIDS." The cowboy tugs at his Stetson and sets his jaw and says, "Doc, what can I do?" The doc...

jbprptco, To be honest that post was made last year, and I have been very busy since then. I don't remember which antenna I was talking about at the time. I think I was probably thinking about Verical Loops with a coil to reduce the size or EH antennas. Be sure to take a look at those antenna types ...

As for antennas, most standard broadcast stations use a multi bay Circular polarized setup. I will warn you, they are very expensive. Do a google search on bkg77-hp and you will find one such antenna. There are many other models out there as well. Be sure to get an antennas that is rated for atleast...

RDS and Windows Media player
Since I use Windows Media player (really don't like WinAmp), I wonder, are there any RDS units out there that work for me?

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to this post... I have set it up so that the XLR board can be easily bypassed. Currently I am trying to get audio out of the stock board with no mods. I have or have access to pretty much all there is in test equipment. BTW, I still would like to get a schemati...

Ok, a couple of questions.... Originally, this unit was to be shipped with the XLR board installed so one would assume that everything would be in there so I could easily mount the board inside the box and supply power to it.? 1. Is the unit is grounded through the stand-off and no ground wire is ne...
