ISOTRON

I also have an AM MAX with 24 volt supply producing about 10 watts. I recently purchased an ISOTRON antenna 200B. The antenna was a perfect 1:1 match mounted on a mast three feet above the ground. At 22 feet on the roof, the SWR at 1700 Khz is about 1.8. I plan to adjust this soon. The range is not ...

Power and modulation AM max

There was recently quite a discussion about the AM MAX. Someone had suggested that it was not capable of full modulation at full power of ten to fifteen watts. Since it uses PWM technique, should it really make a difference? I would think that the larger issue would be antenna matching.

IS a regulated supply necessary? I have a stereo with power supply of 29 volts of at least 4 amps. I can completely disconnect this from the receiver. Thanks

Dc voltage requirement for AM max

The info for the AM Max sggests that you need 26 volts for full power in AM mode. I hope that stabilized 26 volts does not mean regulated since those supplies are not easy to find. BTW, the pictures of the AM transmitter do not show much space for a heat sink, which almost certainly would be necessa...
