Question about frequency

I know all it takes is a simple signal generator to produce a transmitter, but I am confused on how to design for a given frequency. I know what frequency means, its the amount of signals per second. But, how would you design for a certain frequency? For example, no matter what station you tune your...

Ok I ordered and received a 4060, 4013, 7490, and a 7447, as well as a 32.768K crystal. I built the 1Hz pulse circuit, and it works just fine. However, When I connected the 7490, 7447 and the 7-segment LED, the LED does not light up. To test the 1Hz part of it, I connected an LED to it, and it flash...

Ok, that makes it alot better =D> I think I can see the decimal in the hz for the schematic. It's kind of blurry if you zoom in. I'm guessing that the capacitor on the right is a variable capacitor. The symbol in my college electronics book uses an arrow instead. Also, on first glance, I thought ...

32768Khz (used in wrist watches). This way you'll get 2Hz out
of the 4060 (largest divide ratio is /16384).

Do you mean 32,768hz, or 32,768Khz (32.768Mhz)?

If its 32,768Khz, then

32,768Khz = 32,768,000hz /16384=2000

Or did you mean 32,768hz?

What I recommend to you is that you use the 4060 chip, it is a binary counter with oscillator which can also be made with quartz crystal. I would suggest using the lowest frequency available quartz, which is the 32768Khz (used in wrist watches). This way you'll get 2Hz out of the 4060 (largest di...

Can someone provide me a simple timer schematic?

I've learned some stuff since I last posted here, and I feel I am ready to start working on schematics now. I have a good grasp on Ohm's Law, resistance, capacitors, symbols and stuff. I was at my local Radio Shack the other day, and they had cheap ICs on clearance, so I picked up 5. They are all CM...

What's this symbol?

I am studying some schematics in a book I bought, but unfortunately, there isn't a legend in the book that tells what this symbol is. It looks like an upside down capital e. "E" only upside down and the long straight edge is up. There is a line coming up from the middle of it. What is it??...

I need a good symbol legend

Does anybody have any url or a picture of a legend? Many of the symbols in the schematics I've never seen before. I wanna try out some schematics here. Thanks.

Using an FM transmitter for an R/C car

What kind of FM transmitter could I use to control a remote control car and have it go a mile or more?

Make - model # - and cross reference #

and where can I buy one at?

Also, how do you increase the range of a transmitter at board level?

Thanks in advance

NEED HELP with a video transmitter and receiver

I've always wanted to explore places or areas with a car, so I want to put an infrared camera, the bare camera piece that you solder onto the circuit board kind of camera lens piece. And I also want it to transmit up to 2 miles if possible, at least half a mile. I also need a basic video receiver wh...
