I'm a big user of software and like tinkering with computers from time to time, but I'm not going to touch Vista for some time. I'm sure it improves on many things that XP lacked, but this OS just doesn't seem to inspire a rush to use it. More RAM usage, odd implementation of anti-virus/security pro...

It's an amplifier. Here's a link to a site that seems to offer the one we've got here . We used it on a road trip to boost our mobile internet access and it worked well. Cingular here in the States offers high-speed internet which my dad's got access to built-in his laptop. However, when you're movi...

I've been calculating my fuel economy since I got the car (two weeks ago) and I get about 7L/100km (33 mpg, US gallons mind you). Not bad for a high revving petrol engine (it turns 4000k revs at 130km/h in fifth gear). Perhaps a small problem, I've driven almost 2000 miles (3200 km) since I've got i...

What do you drive?

Cars, pickups, vans and even lorries are acceptable. I now drive a Honda Jazz (It's called a Fit in most of the Americas). It's got great handling. Four normal-sized adults can fit into it with room to spare. When looking for one I refused the automatic transmission. None of that torque converter cr...

For the American market AM is dead when it comes to music, but that's no surprise (I'm not bad mouthing AM, just the state it's been in for years). I really wonder when a large enough percentage of cars will offer an HD radio for free so all these people will benefit from this disaster. Why couldn't...

My father purchased a mobile amplifier for is car that words great. I can't remember who make it, but it's got an aeriel you attach to the roof of the car and another one to be used within 3 feet or so of the mobile.

In my roughly two years of broadcasting right next to a small town I never heard one peep from the authorities. I doubt the local police would be able to do anything. They would need a warrant first and since it's an FCC matter would probably get stuck at that point.

I've a few Moloko tunes, Sing It Back is mostly what comes to mind and her song with Portishead. As for Portishead, I had to listen to the songs a few times for them to grow on me, but then I really liked them. Goldfrapp are good, and their latest album had some cracking singles from it. I'm also a ...

I've been liking some trip-hop along with the usual trance and house electronic I listen to. I fancy Hooverphonic, Portishead, Björk, Sneaker Pimps and Everything But the Girl. I was also listening to Depeche Mode today on my commute to work.

BTW, Marko, it's Franz Ferdinand.

I'd also recommend the shortest run of low-loss cable.

Additionaly, audio processing equipment/software with a limiter to give your station that "sound".

You must tune properly or else your range will be terrible and you'll likely blow your transmitter because of the excessive SWR.

Without an SWR meter you can't really tell how to do it and from experience the chart included with the aerial is very vague.

Usually visual confirmation is the way to go and seems like the last defence for automated spammers. As for the manual spammers, well they just have to get deleted a banned.

I'm sure you know about the pirates that make up over half of the stations in London, right? Obviously some of those pirates have been around for a long time. It seems that if you're responsible, don't play profanity and don't interfere with other stations you stand a better chance or not getting ca...

Speaking of spam, is there a way you could block email addresses from appearing?

At another php board I visit even logged in users can't see others' email addresses and have to send them a PM type message to their email account. Just a though and is photo verification turned on?
