AM antenna - Carrier current matching coupler
Now that you are selling your AM transmitter, I think it would be nice if you could offer a carrier current coupler. This is a matching device that allows you to couple the AM signal into power lines. This used to be a very popular way of broadcasting back in the day. The reason I think it is a good...

How to calculate the power handling for inductor?
Right now I have a small low pass filter I built with some of these: https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/ ... ND/3737485
I handles 7W just fine, but I want to know if it will work with 15W.
Will it work? Can I calculate how much it can handle?

New AM transmitter?
I noticed on your AM transmitter page that it says you're bringing it back with a new version. What features are in the new version? I have been interested in AM broadcasting for a while, but I am unable to find high quality transmitters. The only ones available are the low quality ones from Greece....

So after I put the amplifier back on the dummy load, I noticed some tiny sparks forming on one of the gate tabs. It was strange because it didn't seem to be sparking to anything. It appeared only the surface was sparking. Anyway, after a few more seconds there was a large spark near one of the drain...

It is hard for me to adjust the antenna where it is, so I want to make sure it is the problem first. I found that an SWR of 1.2 with 1kW should mean that roughly 10W is reflected. If this is true, then why do I get only 900W on the antenna and 1kW on the dummy load? Is SWR not the same at different ...

Antenna analyzer and 1kw amp
Hi I tested a 1kW amp into an antenna for the first time after testing on a dummy load. When plugged into the dummy load, I have a temperature of 70C on the mosfet and it stays there for a long time and makes exactly 1kW. When I connected the antenna, I had only 900W out instead of 1kW and the mosfe...

When I turn up the MPX level on the exciter with the 6000 so that it reaches the same volume level as the 2000, it looks like this. Something isn't right. The two blue pots don't do anything. I also notice the modulation on the screen of the exciter shows almost full even with no audio input. Both p...

Problem with SE6000 AN+
I am having a problem with a too wide carrier using the SE6000 AN+. The problem is definitely the stereo coder because when using the old SE2000, it is much narrower and the volume is even higher. I tried adjusting the pilot level pot with no changes. I can adjust the MPX level on the transmitter to...

AFAIK the C1971 is no longer manufactured, so most likely you got a used one which may be partly damaged or you got one of those Chinese clones that doesn't work as well. I've read they were doing this with the RD15HVF1 as well. Maybe you could try replacing it with a legitimate RD15HVF1 which I thi...

The rest of the problems were mentioned in this thread before: - amp not in separate RF shielded section or box - no +48V RF blocking/filtering with feed-through caps - exciter several cm/inches away from amplifier with no shielding whatsoever - LCD module practically right next to output connector...

I will send some photos as soon as I can. I did notice the 12V supply would increase to 15V when powering the amplifier. When I built a 150W transmitter I didn't have these problems. I didn't realize I have to isolate the amplifier power from the exciter in some way. I thought I knew what I was doin...

Blew out final, no SWR, confused.
I attached the MAXPRO5015 to a 800W amplifier. The amplifier needs about 5-6W for full power. I tested the amp before with a low quality Chinese transmitter into a dummy load just to see that it was working. I first tested the MAXPRO on it's own into the dummy load and it seemed to work fine up to t...

max pro 2015 vs 5015
I'm trying to decide which transmitter to buy, but I can't tell any differences between them. The new MAX PRO 2015+ FM exciter is a simplified version of our MAX PRO 5015+ board and also a replacement for our old MAXPRO2000+. It is also a recommended replacement for our popular MAX PRO 3000+ board. ...
