Part 15
I'm a pirate in the US, and i'm thinking about seting up a network of part 15 transmitters. the "legal limit" is s 150 microvolts per meter, so what does that translate to in watts using something like a 3/4 wave antenna? How exactly do you measure microvolts per foot? Thanks for any help!...

My plan…
I don’t want to get busted. So, I’ve got an idea. I’ll become an internet only radio station.(wink, wink) I get myself a solar panel to power my transmitter. Put the transmitter up on a mountain near my house. Then, either get somebody to volunteer their house, to stream the radio station, and use a...

Lightning protection
So I’ve been putting this off until the lightning season, and now it’s time. How do I protect my transmitter from lightning? Is there some sort of RF surge protector I can get/make? Somebody told me to use a stick of graphite. Would this work?

could very well have been a neighbour, I wasn't interfering with any TVs as far as I know, but I know I was interfering with the radio for a ways around my tree! You may as well forget about listening to any other radio station in my house, unless it comes in pretty strong! But I’m pretty sure what ...

I GOT BUSTED!!!
I’m a pirate in the US, and I just got busted… Almost. I heard from one of the licensed stations in town (that I’m friends with) that the cops had just come by, wondering how they can get a hold of the FCC, because there’s an illegal radio station on the air and they want the FCC to deal with it. My...

The final came, i installed it, and it didn't work. so i'm way pissed off. i come back to it later, and i discovered i'd droped a drop of solder between the ground and one of the primearies! so i pulled that off, and it works! so now i'm on the air, with a monster heat sink, a cooling fan, and my st...

I had to get it from them, beacuse i'm in the US and i need it fast! But you can bet i'll neaver make another major purchase from them, they w...

I got a call in phone!
I had to get it from T Mobile, because they don’t ask for a name. So it can’t be traced back to me! But, I have a slight problem. There’s no reception in my studio! :-? (I just love how it’s underground!) So what I’m thinking is I’ll build myself an antenna with ground radials and everything,...

So i'm wondering exactly what transistor to order, beacuse the numbers ot the transistor look like they were ground off or something. Then i can just replace it myself. i'm going to take the transm...

today I pulled the heatsink off, and i found out there wasn't any heatsink compound between the transistor and the heatsink! the circut board looks riely brown/yellow around the transistor, so i'm priety sure the output is blown. do you think the transistor will be my only problem, or will there be ...

I think I killed my MAX PRO IV +! I need help!!!
So I’ve been on the air for almost a month straight with my MAX PRO IV+. Last night I took my transmitter off the air to add a (tugicom) stereo encoder. I got it installed, no problem. i put the case all back together, and I turn it on. Now, I can’t get any RF out of the transmitter! I notice that t...

A Picture of my studio!
Go check it out! It's sweet 8) I call myself 96.7 FM Projekt Underground. My studio is truly underground, by about 3 feet!! I'm covering my entire town on a MAX PRO IV+! The corporate giants in my area have particularly lousy programming, especially for the high school aged market. So I have a HUGE ...
