RDS MAX 4000+ serial protocol
As a satisfied RDS MAX 4000+ user i'm looking for a list of the complete serial protocol to control the rds encoder. At the end of the manual there are a few examples and they are clear to me, but i want to control time/pty and more. Also in the manual it says that the whole protocol will be publish...

RDS max 4.0? or do you mean RDS max4000+? I'm using the same RDS encoder without any problems (i think it's one off the best none professional RDS encoders you can buy! for a very good price!) and compared to the RDSmax3.0 (which i have also) a MUCH! better RDS encoder. Maybe your sound/mpx level fr...

Oh yes it's real fun :D for my decoder i have to study all about these RDS groups... Especially those ODA groups are fun... Sometimes it's a bummer, i have only ONE! station who transmits PTYN so after finishing my code to put this 10A group on my display, i discovered that they only transmit 8 spac...

Connect set Extended Country Code (ECC) RDS4000+
I was doing a little testing today and i noticed that i can't change the extended country code of my RDS4000+
If i change it to whatever i choose in the program (E0...E4) it will always output code 3

Looking for some deep RDS info.
Maybe some off the RDS experts from PCS can help me on this one... :D I'm making a RDS decoder to go with my communications receiver and this decoder is intend for 'amateur use' so it can display more information on a LCD then a regular RDS decoder. (like used groups, PI, blok error counter etc. etc...

RDS4000+ RDSencoder
Since a few weeks i have the new RDS4000+ RDSencoder in use and i have to say it's GREAT! I'm a real 'time' freak :D so this new function @TIME and @DATE really fits my needs! (normal time in RDStext) Also i'm not a radiostation but a DX amateur with wideband fm so in bad conditions i can switch-off...

RDS MAX3.0 broken (think Atmel)
Big bummer today, after many hours of labour my SE4+ and RDS MAX where almost build in a cabinet... What wend wrong is still a puzzle, but suddenly my RDS was gone and the red led isn't flashing anymore :( So i think the Atmel of the RDS is gone... i still can measure crystal activity and it gets 5v...

Preemphasis problem SE4+
After building my SE4+ in a cabinet i did some testing and found a disturbing bug in the control of the DSP... When i switch preemphasis to 50uS the whole! amplitude is amplified and in such a way that the sound gets distorted! When i switch to *off* or 75uS there is no problem... I tested it with a...

Thank you for the quick answer, i also thought about cutting of the RDS level but i did not know that connecting it to earth is no problem (i will use a small omron relais as i don't won't long wires carrying my RDS signal) About this protocol you wrote three times <startbyte> :) but if i understand...

RDS MAX 3.0 possible to switch on/off
Is there a possibillity to switch the RDS encoder on/off when it's still in my MPX line? As a DX station i sometimes have to switch off RDS, a relay between the MPX line is not a option. Is there maybe a pin on the atmel processor which i can control? or maybe on the PLL? Other question is where i c...

Hmm ican't edit the post, but i forgot something about the TA switch. When i measure one point of the switch is connected to GND the other two are connected to the microprocessor, so it's a pull-down switch... But when i measure on the switch there is almost no difference in opening the switch or cl...

Some RDS MAX3+.0+ questions
After using the RDS max for a while i decided to give it a nice 19" box (together with SE4 stereo encoder) For this i want the RS232 on the back from my 19" casing, to avoid ground loops a like the galvanic separation from the RDS-MAX... :D but it's not 100% separated the transmit from the...
