Re-soldered every joint, i think it's just a slightly temperemental componant, it's done it since day one, but it's hardly a problem, nothing worth winge-ing about. I did email you (via sales address) about prices of a whole lcd liquid crystal display, and also about a whole new led segment display,...

MAX PRO 1 VCO SHIELDING
On the MaxPro1 pcb, there is a tinned metal strip surrounding an small square area on the far corner of the board. There is a brief reference to this is the manual as the VCO area? What are the benefits of shielding this area off and why? Does it stop rf getting in? or out? or keep the temperature m...

SEGMENT LED DISPLAY - change of colour
You've probably heard me drone on in one of my earlier posts about my MaxPro1 led segment display. I was thinking of buying the lcd liquid crystal display but I like how my led display shows up easily in dark conditions. As one of the sections keeps going out (i have to flick it to make it light up ...

i know heheheh i was planning on modding the thing to around 10-15w out if possible, but i'm rapidly giving up on my idea. Atleast it will run 24/7 unattended now i hope, i keep a spare 2SC1971 taped inside the housing anyway. Doubt i'll need it now. Doubt i'll even need a fan!!! No-ones made a 14wa...

Oh, and here's the pictures of my heatsink i fitted to my MaxPro1, and the led segmant display that is a bit dodgy (one segment goes out, you have to flick the thing to get it back on. Nothing serioues but done it since first use) which i would like to replace for a lcd liquid crystal display. Are y...

It's a commercial power amplifier made by the famous PYE of CAMBRIDGE. They were made for their car installation radio-telephones when they used 104-108MHz before the UK broadcast band was expanded from 88-104MHz to 88-108MHz. They are an amazingly robust and indestructable amplifier with absolutely...

I have an amplifier, that's why i need the a bit more wattage. I have a 50watt power amplifier that requires 12-15w in to get 50w out. Feeding it with 6w gives just 20w, and 7w in gives 27w out. I really want these amps running nearer 50w, but it seems silly to buy another amp (1w in with 15 out) to...

I did put an email your way via the sales address as asked (in regards to my other post about the ebay store system, and possibly reselling stock?) >maybe you didn't get it? Yahoo keeps reporting my yahoo email address as <BULK> in peoples inboxs. Anyhow - quick question, seeing as you are roaming t...

The other problem i have though, is the stereo encoder i have and other internals all require 13.8v so i have to run the MaxPro1 at that volatge also. I'm not very well knowledged regarding psu's and volatges etc I'm sure there is a way of running the stereo encoder and other extras at 13.8v and the...

Hi, thanks for that. Last night i spent 5 hours machining a heatsink bigger than thart in the photo you linked to, it runs the full length of the MaxPro1 board, and is just a bit wider than the one shown. It was a proper heatsink i purchased from a developer suppliers, which i polished with an elect...

MaxPro1 Rf Transistor Upgrades
Can the 2SC1971 transistor on the MaxPro 1 be direcetly replaced with a 2SC1972? As far as i'm aware the only differences are: 2SC1971 is 7watt 2SC1972 is 14watt Would the 1972 still run at 7watt like the 1971 did or would it run at 14watt? If not what would happen? Any information any has on this s...

Ok, thanks! I now know, and i've got peace of mind before i plug it up! I didn't want to blow it up or damage it for the sake of waiting for an answer first. I dug the MaxPro1 out, and thought i'd look it back up to refresh myself before making a full stereo 50watt unit from it, as it was some time ...

MAX PRO 1 DISPLAYS - 2 types?
Hi. My Max Pro 1 board has an led segmant display fitted to it, and not the common liquid crystal lcd diaplay. I've not powered it up yet to check it's ok, because it was bought and forgotten about. I've owned it for an absolute age and have only just got round to playing with it!!! I'm yet to build...
