We will, don't worry :)

We're a small company, we can't do everything at
the same time.

Amplifier with AM Max II

Post by AM-Enthusiast »

I have used an SGC SG-500 amplifier which provides a 200 watt carrier from the AM Max II using the 19 volt power supply with about 7 watts output. With modulation peaks I recorded an output of over 500 watts. It sounded excellent.

My unit was modified for 6000 - 7000 khz

:) The SGC SG-500 is highly touted but I though it required 50w input. Sounds like your set up for international shortwave. What part of the world you are you from and frequency are you operating. Do you send out QSL's.

SGC SG-500

I thought it required about 50 watts as well but testing proved otherwise. The gain of the amplifier seems to be computer controlled and it has the ability to adjust the gain it delivers depending on the input power. I was shocked to find it delivered almost 15 db of gain.

I hope you guys give us some distance numbers,
how far does it go with 500W. Should go far with good
antenna, I imagine.
